CoLibri adjusting welding time
Adjusting the welding time on the Book Covering Machine
If your Book Covering Machine is not cutting the covers cleanly, you can easily adjust the welding time.
Note: If the plastic is cut is appearing ‘stringy’ the welding time is too long and will need to be deceased.
If the plastic is not cutting through, you will need to increase the welding time.
Important: Most machines should be set between 4 to 6. If they are not cutting cleanly in this range, there may need to be another adjustment made to the machine. Please contact us on 1300 654 738 for advice.
Simply follow these instructions (read all the way through before performing):-
Automatic Models (eLeonardo & eDaVinci)
Note: To navigate the menu on the machine there are 2 commands
1. Short Press - Press orange button for 1 second
(This is done to move the cursor through the menu)
2. Long Press - Press and hold the orange button for 3 seconds then let go
(This is done to select an option in the menu)
1. Ensure the machine is plugged in and switched on at the power point, but switched off at the rear of the machine itself.
2. Push the orange button down, and while the button is held down switch the power on at the rear of the machine.
3. When the LCD screen lights up, release the button after 3 or 4 seconds. A menu should show up on the screen
4. Do 2 short Presses to go down to ‘Cut Adjustment’, do a Long Press to select the ‘Cut Adjustment’ option.
5. Then the arrow should be on ‘temp’ this means turning the heat up and the subtract symbol means to deacrease the temperature.
So to increase the temp do a long press on ‘temp’ this will increase the temp by 1. Repeat this until you are at your intended number.
6. Do Short Presses to get to ‘END’ then a Long Press to select the ‘END’ option, this should take you to the main menu
7. Do 4 Short Presses untill the arrow is on RUN, Then Long Press, machine starts up and should be ready to use.
Your welding time is now adjusted and you need to test it by placing another cover on the desk of the machine, and cutting and welding it as per usual. If the Book Cover edge has cut cleaner, then it is now set at the right temperature. If the plastic is not better, you might need to change the temperature again untill cut is clean.
